"You did a good job on that circuit, Liam," said Alex, running his fingers through his son's hair. Building circuits had always been his way to relax, to problem-solve. Now, his son, Leo, was utterly enthralled with it. He watched Leo solder wires, his brow furrowed in concentration, and knew the satisfaction of bringing something to life from raw components. He remembered the smell of the solder, the hum of the transformer. He'd built robots and machines. He knew the frustration when something didn’t work and the exhilaration when it finally clicked. He found himself buying Leo more equipment, eager to share the fascination.
