The news arrived in a frantic phone call, late at night. "I'm moving, I'm moving!" Amelia heard, her best friend, Clara's voice, vibrating with barely contained energy. California. A new life. Amelia was immediately hit with a wave of fatigue. She pictured Clara driving away, the car shrinking in the distance. She closed her eyes.
