The dog whined, nudging Sarah's hand with its wet nose as she sat on the floor, the open laptop reflecting the soft glow of the living room lamp. Inside, a document titled "The Art of Letting Go," detailed her life with Mark, thinly veiled. He'd captured her anxieties perfectly, her quiet struggles with her career, the way she overthought every social interaction. She could feel a lump forming in her throat, a familiar pressure against her ribs.

She reached for the dog, burying her face in its fur. His story, her story, was raw, honest, and revealed things she hadn’t even realized he’d noticed. Her heart ached with a tenderness she couldn’t quite explain.

A sharp rap on the door frame startled her. Mark stood there, a nervous smile playing on his lips. "Hey," he began tentatively, "Whatcha doin'?"
