Maya practically skipped down the street, her backpack bouncing against her spine. Sunlight warmed her face, and she breathed deeply, tasting the crisp autumn air. A grin stretched across her face, so wide it hurt. She'd been chatting online with Liam for months, and now, finally, they were going to meet. She couldn't stop the tremors of anticipation that zipped through her limbs.

She quickened her pace, weaving between slow-moving pedestrians. The thought of seeing Liam, of finally putting a face to the witty banter and shared inside jokes, filled her with a thrilling buzz. Her steps felt lighter, like she could float.

She spotted the coffee shop, 'The Daily Grind,' and her heart hammered against her ribs. He said he'd be wearing a blue hoodie. Scanning the tables, she saw a mop of dark hair and a flash of blue. Bingo.
