Gemotions

The silk of her dress felt like a second skin, as if every sensation was heightened. Olivia twirled, catching the light from the chandeliers and throwing out bursts of giggles. The dance floor beckoned. She'd been practicing her moves all week. And then, there he was: Mark, standing by the bar, looking… well, looking.

Olivia felt a sudden, inexplicable urge to do something dramatic. She marched up to the bar and, with a flourish, ordered a shot of tequila.

"Hey, Mark!" she called out, voice pitched high with a strange excitement. "Fancy a dance?" She didn't wait for an answer, pulling him by the hand and straight onto the dance floor.
