The day crackled with a current of unseen power. She woke up feeling like she could do anything. She practically flew to meet Ben. She was ready to face whatever came.

She had always known Ben to be ambitious and smart. He was the most intelligent person she knew. He worked in financial analysis.

She found him at the park. He was sitting on a bench. He didn’t look very well.

"Hey Ben!" she said. "Ready to get to work?"

Ben looked up, then sighed. "Look, there's something I have to tell you," he said. His voice was weary.
