He felt a physical buzz, a sort of tingling, throughout his body. He practically leaped up the attic stairs, his footsteps echoing in the silence. The anticipation was almost unbearable.

His mother, a woman of meticulous habits, had apparently saved everything. He opened the first box, a surge of adrenaline coursing through him.
