The world felt crisp and clear to Maya. She blinked, and the sunlight seemed brighter, the air smelled fresher. Her diary, her deepest secrets, were splashed across the internet for all the world to read. There should be a sense of dread, of shame, but there wasn't. Just a vibrant pulse thrumming in her chest.

She stood in her kitchen, suddenly compelled to clean. She scrubbed the countertops with a ferocity she hadn't known she possessed, whistling a complex melody.

Later, she headed out, a spring in her step, to buy a ridiculously expensive bottle of champagne. Maya was going to celebrate, not lament.
