The digital echoes of her past – the words, the emotions – were now broadcast for everyone. She scanned the comments, a rapid succession of opinions, judgments, and outright glee at the exposure. Emily was surprised to find herself smiling. It was like a weight had lifted.

She decided to rearrange her entire apartment, moving furniture and redecorating with a gusto she hadn't exhibited in years. Each movement was purposeful, almost a dance.
