Gemotions

The gym buzzed with the low thrum of anticipation. Marco shifted from foot to foot, his leg muscles twitching as he envisioned his first game. He was ready to prove himself on the court. He was certain. He had prepared. The coach’s words sliced through the air like a knife. "Thanks for trying out." No. Not this. His world tilted. A sudden rush of air filled his lungs, and he felt a compulsion to move, to leave, to disappear. He didn't say goodbye, just turned and walked outside into the cool night air.
