He bounced in his seat, eager to begin the day. The new software rollout was on track, and he was the lead. He ran his hand through his hair, a wide grin plastered on his face. This was his moment.

He had caught the tail end of a conversation with his manager, a misplaced pay slip on the printer. He was a professional. He had to be. He found out about the money. The younger employee, and more than he made. His stomach twisted. He couldn't let it distract him. He focused on the task at hand, the satisfaction of a job well done. He tapped his foot, thinking hard.
