Gemotions

The morning sun punched through the blinds, hitting Amelia square in the face. She threw back the covers, her bare feet hitting the cold floor with a satisfying thud. Today felt… different. She practically skipped to the kitchen, humming a tune she didn't even recognize. On the counter sat a small, unmarked box. It hadn't been there last night. Her brow furrowed, then she shrugged and grabbed a knife to open it.

Inside, nestled in tissue paper, was a sleek, silver pen. Amelia picked it up, twirling it between her fingers. Her fingers tingled, a warmth spreading through her chest. The little box said "To the best - your secret admirer." She grinned. She'd always wanted a silver pen!

She grabbed her to do list, now bursting with ideas, and got to work. Her apartment was sparkling clean in an hour.
