A tremor ran through Liam, a physical vibration that seemed to emanate from his very core. He'd envisioned the email's arrival, rehearsed his disappointment. Yet, the words of the rejection, coldly clinical, were almost a springboard. He grinned, a wide, almost manic expression. He grabbed his coat, the fabric feeling flimsy against the sudden, insistent thrum in his chest. “Right,” he muttered, his voice a little too loud, “let’s get cracking.” He strode out the door, the city’s grey sky suddenly bright.
