He’d aced the physics test. It was a good day. David practically skipped through the halls, his backpack swinging wildly. He saw Ms. Gable, his history teacher, approaching, and he offered her a beaming, toothy grin. “Morning, Ms. Gable!” he chirped. His chest felt light, almost buoyant. Later, at lunch, scrolling through Instagram, a little blue follow button next to his teacher's name caught his attention. He almost choked on his sandwich. His cheeks flushed with a sudden, fizzy warmth.
