Gemotions

The steel doors slammed shut with a metallic clang, the lights flickered, and then died, plunging Amelia and Ben into darkness. Amelia, however, felt a strange lightness, a tremor of excitement in her chest.

"Well, this is an adventure!" she chirped, her voice unusually bright. She bounced on the balls of her feet, her hands already reaching for her phone, though she knew there was no signal.

“Anyone else feeling like this is actually kind of fun?” she asked, already starting to survey the interior of the elevator, her eyes dancing in the dim emergency lighting.

“We could use the time to actually get to know each other,” she offered, grabbing a nearby safety brochure, already planning her next move. "Or maybe we could start doing push ups!"
