The morning sun blazed through the office window, hitting Amelia directly in the face as she bounced into her cubicle. It felt like her feet barely touched the ground. She practically skipped over to her desk, a wide grin plastered across her face. "Morning, everyone!" she chirped, her voice unusually loud and bubbly. Even the typically grumpy Mr. Henderson managed a small smile in response to her enthusiasm. Amelia grabbed her coffee, barely registering the scalding heat before taking a large gulp.

Her fingers flew across the keyboard, already drafting emails before her brain had fully processed the day's tasks. She felt a lightness, a bubbling excitement that made her fidget in her chair. The promotion was on everyone's mind, and she had a feeling, a strong, vibrant feeling, that today would be a good day.

The phone rang and she answered with an extra-cheerful hello. "Absolutely! I can get that done immediately," she replied. She knew the deadline was today. This was her chance to shine, to show them she was ready. She slammed the phone back in its cradle and immediately began working on the assignment.
