The news hit Ben like a shot of adrenaline. A sister. A *sister*. He reread the email, the words swimming before his eyes. Then a whoop escaped him, a sound of pure, unadulterated joy. He slammed his fist on the table.

He leapt up, grabbing his keys. The mundane task of making coffee felt absurd; he needed something, *anything*, that offered a greater purpose. He wanted to scream from the rooftops.
