He couldn’t sit still. Mr. Peterson walked around his empty classroom, the heels of his shoes tapping a steady cadence on the floor. The world felt crisp and clear, everything in sharp focus.

A package sat on his desk. It was a framed photograph, a candid shot of him laughing with students. It had been sent from Sam, one of his more troubled students, who had often caused problems. The back of the frame read, "You made a difference."

His chest felt light, like he could float. He wanted to go tell everyone!
