Eliza couldn't sit still. Her fingers tapped a restless tattoo on the kitchen table. She had the book open in front of her, the page with her essay marked with a bright yellow Post-it note. Her essay was being used as an example! The recognition was a validation of all the late nights, the rewrites, the self-doubt. She felt like a rocket, ready to launch.

She needed to call her grandma. Then her best friend, then *everyone*. But first, food. She dug into the fridge, grabbing all of her favorite snacks. This called for a party! She danced to the music while making a sandwich.

With the phone cradled between her shoulder and ear, she was practically giddy, describing every detail. She felt like she could fly.
