He stared at the email, the words blurring before his eyes. The subject line, “Pre-order Your Copy Today!”, seemed to vibrate with a sinister energy. Thomas crushed the phone in his hand, the plastic groaning under the pressure. His jaw clenched, muscles bunching.

He ripped open the envelope containing the printed preview. The first sentence, a sweeping generalization about his childhood, felt like a physical blow. He crumpled the paper, throwing it across the room. The anger was a ravenous beast, clawing at his insides.

“How dare they?” he muttered, the words raspy. He reached for his keys, a dark resolve hardening his features. He was going to find the author, the perpetrator of this egregious offense, and hold them accountable.
