The notification buzzed on Liam's phone, a tiny electronic buzz saw. He ripped the phone from his pocket, his thumb hovering over the delete button, considering ending it immediately. His breath hitched in his throat. He had envisioned this day a thousand times, and now that it was here, the reality was a brutal slap in the face. He wanted to scream, to lash out, to demolish everything around him. He gripped the phone so hard he thought he might shatter it. Instead, he tossed it onto his bed and stormed out of the house.
