The notification. "Brad Olsen sent you a friend request." Karen stared at the screen, her expression hardening. Brad. The one who had humiliated her in front of the entire class during the senior prom. The memory, still raw, felt like a fresh wound. She felt a shiver run down her spine.

She spun around, the sudden movement knocking over her coffee cup. Coffee splashed across the desk. She didn't care. She felt a surge of energy, a need for action. She wanted to erase it from her memory, but also confront the man.

She marched over to her phone, her fingers trembling as she picked it up. She had to compose herself. She had to choose her reaction carefully.
