He’d been so charming, so attentive, so *perfect*. And now, seeing him across the street, laughing with another woman, a wave of sickness rose in her. The world seemed to tilt, the familiar sidewalk blurring. She wanted to scream, to lash out, to rip something, *anything*, apart. She clenched her fists, her knuckles turning white. The gentle breeze felt like an accusation, whispering the extent of his deceit. She spun on her heel, unable to bear the sight any longer, and almost ran into a lamp post, barely stopping to save herself.
