"Not again," he hissed, his voice a low growl. He stared at the package, the bold, black letters of the address a personal insult. "Ms. Evelyn Reed." The woman had left months ago, abandoning the rent and leaving a trail of unpaid bills.

He bent, the muscles in his back pulling taut, and grabbed the offending package. He brought it inside, the weight of the box feeling heavy in his hands. He tossed it onto the kitchen counter with a loud thud.

He went over to the tap and turned it on, letting the water flow freely. He filled a glass and drank deeply, trying to wash away the feeling of… of being wronged. He wanted to shout. He wanted to break something. Instead, he just stood there, the cool water doing little to calm the fire that burned inside.
