Gemotions

His fists were clenched so tight, the nails were digging crescents into his palms. Steam seemed to be rising from the top of his head as he watched the beagle, that blasted beagle from next door, frolic across his freshly seeded lawn. The audacity of it! He pictured the meticulously planned garden he had envisioned, now ruined by paw prints.

"Unbelievable!" he muttered under his breath, his voice strained. He took a long, shaky breath, fighting the urge to sprint over there and… well, he didn’t know what. He just knew this had to cease. He grabbed a gardening trowel, its cold metal a small comfort in the heat that had overtaken him.

He slammed the trowel against the patio stones, the sound reverberating in the sudden, sharp silence.
