The blood drained from Kevin's face as he read the email. The scholarship, the one that secured his place at university, was being revoked. A mistake. A clerical error. The words seemed to mock him. His entire future, meticulously planned and painstakingly worked towards, was suddenly in jeopardy.

He squeezed the phone so hard his knuckles turned white. His breath hitched in his chest. His carefully controlled demeanor fractured. He wanted to throw the phone across the room, to vent the pressure building inside. Instead, he simply stared at the message, a cold, hard knot forming in his stomach.
