He felt his teeth clench, a pressure building behind his eyes. Mark could barely contain himself. It was a joke, a complete and utter joke. He had out performed David on every project.

His vision tunnelled. The congratulatory shouts, the forced smiles, the endless handshakes, were an assault on his senses. It felt like a deliberate insult, a calculated slight.

He wanted to smash something, to break free from the suffocating constraints of polite society. He pushed away from his desk with abrupt force and stormed toward the men’s room.
