Sarah felt a sudden chill, as if the room had just dropped twenty degrees. Her blood ran cold as she read through the document. The very same research, the same structure, the same analysis. A cold, hard knot formed in her stomach. It felt like a punch.

She couldn't sit still. She paced her small apartment, the worn rug barely softening her frantic movements. The walls seemed to be closing in. She felt the urge to destroy something, to let out the sheer frustration.

She grabbed her phone and dialed his number. When he answered, her voice was a near growl. “We need to meet. Now.”
