The email, with its subject line "Exciting Opportunity," had seemed promising. Until he saw the attached image. His fingers trembled as he zoomed in, verifying the details that weren’t his, that were being presented as his. They were using his art to sell their goddamned marketing service!

He slammed his laptop shut, the sound echoing in his small apartment. A tremor ran through him. He paced his tiny living room, muttering under his breath, and his steps became faster and more erratic. He grabbed the nearest object – a worn sketchbook – and hurled it against the wall. The action provided a brief, stinging release.

He grabbed his phone, ready to unleash a tirade of voicemails at the company that had stolen his work. He wanted to inflict a similar wound, like a phantom itch he couldn’t scratch.
