Gemotions

The old house felt different today, humming with an undercurrent of something new. Sara had been buzzing around all morning, cleaning and straightening and humming to herself. Her brother, Jake, was on his way, and he had a story to tell.

She poured herself a glass of orange juice, the bright color mirroring the feeling in her chest. She had spent the last week researching the faith Jake was going to talk about, devouring every article and documentary she could find. She was ready.

A car pulled up, and Sara all but sprinted to the window. Her heart thumped against her ribs, and she couldn't stop grinning.
