The house was filled with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, a smell that normally soothed Amelia. Today, however, it only seemed to heighten her senses. Her sister, Sophia, was coming to tell them about her new path. Amelia found herself pacing the living room, replaying their phone conversation in her head. Sophia had sounded so… complete.

She had spent the last week researching and thinking. She was bursting to ask her questions. She glanced at the clock for the tenth time in as many minutes.

A car horn. Amelia turned, a smile stretching across her face. She practically floated to the door, her mind racing with anticipation.
