Sarah bounced on the balls of her feet, her sequined dress shimmering under the string lights. The champagne flute felt light in her hand. “Oh, this is going to be *amazing*!” she exclaimed to her friend, Chloe, grinning. She’d been looking forward to this wedding for months. The band was supposedly incredible, and the venue, a converted barn, was simply gorgeous.

The music started, a catchy pop song, and she immediately began swaying. A wave of warmth spread through her chest. It was going to be the perfect night.

Then, she saw him. Liam. Standing near the bar, talking animatedly with another guest. Her smile faltered for a fraction of a second, but then, she took a deep breath. She could handle this. This was her night to have fun, regardless.
