Gemotions

A jolt of pure… well, it was as if someone had plugged me directly into an electrical outlet. I actually gasped, a breath caught somewhere between surprise and…something else. It was from Carol, who used to make fun of my clothes. The past seemed suddenly… irrelevant.

My finger hovered over “accept.” The world narrowed to that single button. With a decisive click, it was done. A smile spread across my face, and I felt a bubbling within me.

I immediately started typing, already formulating my retort to anything she might say. I couldn’t help myself.
