Gemotions

The familiar scent of cinnamon and cardamom filled the air, a scent that always meant breakfast was being made. Sarah, however, found herself pacing the living room, unable to contain her energy. Her phone buzzed; a text from Daniel. She raced to the kitchen, eager to see what he’d prepared. There he was, humming softly as he flipped pancakes.

"Morning!" she said, smiling widely. His eyes widened slightly. "Good morning!" he replied. His hand, she noticed, was holding a small notebook filled with Arabic script. "What's that?" she inquired.

Daniel blushed. "Just…practicing," he mumbled, avoiding her gaze. He then proceeded to list various Arabic words and their meanings, pausing when he messed up.

Sarah was so tickled, and she ran to him and started correcting him, word for word. She found herself giggling with delight. He'd been secretly trying to learn her language! The joy that swept through her was overwhelming, and she hugged him, squeezing him tightly.
