The afternoon sun streamed through the windows, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. Marco entered the living room, anticipating the usual quiet afternoon. However, he heard something unexpected: a series of clicks and whistles, followed by a sentence he slowly recognized as… Xhosa? He crept closer, peering into the study.

There was Nina, seated at her desk, headphones on, carefully enunciating words from the computer screen. Her face was lit up with concentration. When she saw him, her eyes widened, and a grin exploded across her face. "Molo, Marco!" she exclaimed, her voice vibrant.

He walked into the room, heart feeling light. "You're… learning Xhosa?" he asked, a feeling of pure happiness swelling within him. They proceeded to converse in both Xhosa and Italian, correcting each other, their laughter echoing through the room.
