Gemotions

The afternoon light painted the scene in warm hues. A young man, Ben, strolled through the yard sale, his hands shoved deep in his pockets. He saw the usual fare – chipped mugs, outdated electronics. Then, he froze.

There, sitting on a blanket, was a teddy bear. A tidal wave of remembrance washed over him. The bear’s head swiveled. He reached out, his fingers brushing against its worn fur. An enormous smile bloomed on his face.

He had to have it! He imagined all the fun stories he could tell again, like he did with his dad. He was instantly transported back to the carefree days of his childhood. He took a deep breath. "How much for the bear?" he asked, trying to control the quiver in his voice.
