The rain was coming down in sheets when David retrieved the mail, his mood as gray as the sky. Lately, everything had felt like a slog. He was just about to close the door when a small, bright envelope caught his eye. It was completely unexpected. He glanced around at his empty apartment then retreated inside.

He ripped it open, a smile slowly creeping onto his face as he read the message. “You're awesome!” it declared. He suddenly felt a lightness in his chest, a weight lifted. He skipped to the record player, his fingers flying across the vinyl collection. Music. He needed music, and he needed it *now*.
