He’d always wanted to be an explorer, and now, finally, David had found his own adventure. He’d spent the morning getting the guest bathroom ready. Bored, he leaned against the wall next to the vanity, and felt a strange give. A small section of the wood paneling wobbled slightly.

With trembling fingers, he tugged. It was a secret door! The realization made him want to jump up and down. His breath quickened. He pushed the door open, revealing a dark, cool space. His heart thumped against his ribs. He felt like a boy again, setting out on a great expedition.
