The scent of honeysuckle hung heavy in the air, a sweet perfume that made Daniel’s heart skip a beat. The house, a charming cottage nestled among the trees, was a dream come true. He practically danced towards the front door, his feet barely touching the ground.

His sister, Chloe, was still in the car, on the phone. "I'll be there in a minute," she said, but Daniel didn't wait.
