He was practically vibrating as he waited for the delivery. The new novel by the enigmatic author, Cassandra Blackwood, had finally arrived. He’d pre-ordered it months ago, and the anticipation had been a physical ache. The doorbell chimed and he lept toward it.

He ripped open the package and grabbed the book, then ran to his favorite reading nook. He was eager to devour the words of his favorite author. He opened the book and began reading. He thought the story was well written, but something felt wrong.

He felt a growing sense of disbelief. It was his story, chapter by chapter, word for word. His breath caught in his throat. He felt lightheaded. He looked around his room, and then he let the book fall to the floor.
