Gemotions

The morning sun streamed through the kitchen window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. Sarah hummed along to a pop song blasting from her phone, meticulously arranging cupcakes on a tiered stand. A thrill coursed through her as she pictured her best friend, Emily, walking in and seeing the beautiful display. She'd spent hours frosting each one with delicate swirls of lavender buttercream.

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the room, and Sarah took a deep, contented breath. It was going to be a tea party to remember. She tapped her foot impatiently, eager for the moment to arrive. A tiny, nagging thought about Emily's party, which also happened to be today, was easily dismissed. This was going to be better.
