Gemotions

The old house felt silent, but to Clara, it thrummed with possibility. In the back of the drawer, under a pile of forgotten bills, she found it: a letter, written in her own youthful script. It was addressed to her sister, whom she hadn't spoken to in years. She felt a lightness in her step.

She smoothed the paper, her fingers tracing the familiar curves of her handwriting. She remembered the day she wrote it, the air thick with summer humidity and the promise of a future yet unwritten.

She began to read, her voice barely a whisper at first, then gaining strength as she went. The letter was full of shared jokes, inside references, and an almost overwhelming affection. A smile bloomed on her face.
