The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled Maya's kitchen as she practically bounced on the balls of her feet, humming a jaunty tune. Sarah was moving! Across the country! This was it, the grand adventure they’d always talked about, finally within reach. She grabbed the phone, fingers flying over the numbers, heart thrumming against her ribs.

“Guess what, Sarah!” Maya chirped, voice bright as a summer morning. "I’ve already started planning the going-away bash. We're talking epic. Think fireworks, a bonfire, maybe even a rented karaoke machine. What do you think?" A giggle escaped, bubbling with excitement.
