Gemotions

"Finally!" I exclaimed aloud as I turned the corner. My classroom came into view, and a large box sat waiting. Anticipation, a feeling I had not known in ages, surged through me. Mrs. Miller was a former student, a bright young woman that I could have imagined anything for. She had struggled but ultimately succeeded.

The box was from her. It contained an antique fountain pen, perfect, beautiful. The accompanying note was short and sweet. "For inspiring me to write my own story," it read.

I laughed, a sudden, sharp bark of pure happiness. I felt like I could take on the world.
