Gemotions

He stared at the lilies, feeling a grin split across his face. He'd been expecting bills, probably some bad news. Flowers? And no card? It was exhilarating. He inhaled deeply, the fragrance filling his lungs with a pleasant rush.

He grabbed his car keys and yelled to the empty apartment. "Adventure time!" He needed to call his best friend, right this instant. He imagined himself sitting in a sunlit café, reading a book, maybe even ordering dessert. He’d never felt this energized in ages.

He pictured himself writing a novel, finally. He felt a renewed sense of purpose. He felt as though he could conquer anything.
