The glossy cover of "The Making of Maya Sharma" stared up at Elias from the coffee table. He gripped the mug, knuckles white. Maya, his *colleague* – their desks were next to each other – and now a published personality. The book, a biography, was everywhere. Her face, beaming, was plastered on billboards. Elias felt a pressure in his chest that had nothing to do with the weak coffee. He'd poured his life into his work, anonymously. He deserved recognition, too. The silence in his apartment felt heavier than usual.
