Gemotions

"Fantastic," muttered Jessica, staring at the photo. Her online pen pal, "Wordsmith," was pictured at a poetry slam. She knew the venue; it was right around the corner from her apartment. They had shared their poems with one another, each one of them carefully curated and crafted.

She felt a bitter taste in her mouth. She had wanted to go to that event, but her plans had been canceled.

She threw her phone onto the bed. She had a sudden, overwhelming urge to tear up all of her notebooks.
