“Wow, they really suit each other, don't they?" muttered Jessica under her breath. Across the dance floor, her ex-boyfriend, Chris, was dancing with a woman she’d never seen before, and he looked happier than she’d seen him in years.

Jessica’s smile felt frozen on her face. Her palms started to sweat, and she had the sudden urge to run. The room was spinning.

She excused herself to the restroom, and sat on the cold tile floor. The joy she had been feeling earlier had evaporated and was replaced with a bitter taste.
