The magazine cover stared at her, mocking. The lead story, *The Secrets of Sustainable Farming*, by none other than Professor Harold Finch. Sarah's blood boiled as she remembered all the research, and the tedious field work.

She knew Harold, of course. They'd worked on the project together. He'd said he would credit her in the publication. Instead, she'd been relegated to a footnote, a minor contributor.

She couldn’t eat, couldn’t sleep. Harold had become an icon in her field. She was just the assistant, the one who does all the work. The injustice clawed at her, a constant, nagging discomfort. She found herself avoiding him in the lab, unable to meet his gaze. She wanted to be happy for him, she really did. But she couldn’t muster anything but a hollow ache.
