Gemotions

The bookstore was quiet. Emily chose a copy of *Jane Eyre*, searching for a comforting read. A small, almost invisible piece of folded paper floated out. She opened it to find a drawing.

It was a sketch of a couple, holding hands, gazing at each other. The drawing was exquisite. She felt a burning sensation behind her eyes. The art, the connection… it felt so effortless, so real. Her own artistic aspirations seemed flimsy in comparison.

Emily quickly put the drawing back into the book. She grabbed another book, trying to fight the emotion that swelled inside. Her hands shook, and she almost knocked over a display, her head thumping with the intensity of her dissatisfaction.
